I was told these yellow bumpy things helped to guide people who were blind. A few weeks later I literally ran into a blind person using these things to guide them to a shop.

I don’t think Umami should qualifiy as its own taste category.
I disagree, certain stuff I tasted in J-pan were most accurately described as this. Although they did laugh at my ugly foreign mouth and unrefined western tongue when I asked “Is this umami?”
